What your Ohllob is made of and how to keep it looking the way it did the week it rose.

Chenille and cotton

Most of our couches wear chenille: a soft, short-pile fabric that catches the light and feels warm to sit on. The Cloud Collection sectional wears cotton instead.

Chenille shows the direction of the pile, so a freshly brushed seat can look a shade lighter or darker than its neighbour. A soft brush in one direction evens it out.

Washing

  • Throw pillow covers: remove, wash cold on a gentle cycle, air dry.
  • Seat and back chenille: dry-clean only.
  • No bleach on any cover.
  • Put covers back only when fully dry.

Spills

  • Blot at once with a dry white cloth. Do not rub.
  • Work from the outside of the spot inward.
  • Keep water off the main fabric. A damp cloth, wrung hard, for sticky marks only.
  • Let the foam air out before anyone sits on the spot again.

Helping the foam keep its shape

Foam that is sat on in the same place every night flattens there first. Swap the seats around every few weeks, and the back cushions too. Because nothing is fixed, that takes a minute.

Plump the back cushions after a long film. Keep the set out of strong direct sun if you can, since sun fades dark chenille over a season.
